Tarifa is legendary in the kitesurf world as the European capital of kitesurfing. Amazing winds, great night life, incredible beaches and miles of open sea are but a few of the reasons that people flock here from all over the world to kitesurf or to learn to kitesurf. Tarifa as a destination gets busy over August as many of the Spanish escape the heat of the cities for the relative cool of the coast but August isn't the only time to come and kitesurf in this charming little fishing village.Obviously, most people prefer to kitesurf in the summer, for one thing the temperature is more bearable. Summer also brings some very reliable thermally driven winds. (Winds affected by the heating of the earth and sea.) These winds are so constant in some places that for four or five months out of the year you can get out practically every day. In the summer months Tarifa is battered by the Levante wind, providing some of the best and most consistent "bump and jump" conditions in the world. During winter, kite surfers rely much more on low-pressure systems to bring the wind, though, this can be less reliable. That's not to say that winter kite surfing is impossible, in fact, Tarifa provides one of the worlds' best winter kitesurf locations due to its reliable winds and comparably warm climate. Kitesurfing in the winter has the added advantage that there are not many people on the water so you have much more space to practice your latest move (and no one will see if you mess it up a few times!).Possibly the best times to visit Tarifa if you are able are during the months of April, May and early June or September, October or early November. During this time you can expect sunshine, quiet beaches, lively night life and most importantly wind, wind, wind! Please visit my site Kitesurfing lessons to learn more on the subject! _ CommentsLeave a Reply | AuthorWrite something about yourself.
